Suspect released following serious road crash on busy Clare road

The two-car collision happened on Sunday evening

A man who was arrested following a two-vehicle collision on a busy road in county Clare has been released without charge, gardai have confirmed.

The man was arrested following the incident which happened on the N67, close to Miltown Malbay, at around 6.30pm on Sunday.

Three men, a woman and two teenagers sustained serious injuries and all were taken to University Hospital Limerick for medical treatment. According to gardai, none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

The road where the collision occurred remained closed until Monday afternoon to facilitate forensic and technical examinations of the scene.

A man was arrested and questioned and gardai have confirmed to Clare Live that he has been released without charge pending further investigation.
