CLARE County Council has confirmed that the Ennis Market Building and the adjacent car park has reopened with immediate effect.

A total of 15 public car parking spaces are provided at the facility, which had been closed since November arising from workplace safety, health, and public welfare concerns.

In the intervening period, the local authority has engaged with An Garda Siochana to address ongoing anti-social behaviour at the facility.

Following a review, Clare County Council has engaged a private security company on a temporary basis to facilitate the reopening of the facility and to ensure that all available public car parking spaces are operational with immediate effect.

Clare County Council has moved to acknowledge the business community and members of the public for their patience and understanding during the period of closure.
