LATEST: Plans unveiled for new public roads in two popular Clare towns

Clare County Council has announced plans to introduce two new public roads in Lahinch and Ennis. 

In accordance with Section 11 of the Roads Act 1993, the council have given notice of their intention to change these roadways to public roads in both townlands. 

The considered new public road in Ennis is the road from it's junction with public road L-41774, serving all terminal points within the estate, including houses 25 to 26 at Rockmount Manor.

Under the notice given by the council, the new stretch of public road would comprise of 85 metres of roadway.

In Lahinch, the new public road would be from its junction with public road L-1086, also serving all terminal points within the estate, including houses 1 to 25, Lios na Mara, Lahinch. 

The new stretch of road to be taken over in this location would comprise of 168.2 metres of roadway. 

These proposed new public roads are depicted on maps, which can be inspected during office hours of 9am to 4pm in the Planning Department of Áras Contae an Chláir, along the New Road in Ennis. 

Clare County Council proposes to take in charge the roads and pursuant to the provision of Section 180(4) of the Planning and Development Act, where an Order under Section 11 has been made, the Council proposes to then take in charge the services and public open spaces within the areas outlined in green, as shown on the maps, excluding private areas.

Objections or representations with regard to the declaration can be made in writing and must be received by the Administrative Officer in the Planning Department of Áras Contae an Chláir by 4 pm on Monday, December 22.
