'Help us help them': Shannon Airport launches bespoke teddy to support children's charities

The Shannon Bear is only available while stocks last

There’s a heart-warming new arrival at Shannon Airport, all in aid of two very special causes.

Shannon Bear - a limited-edition, cuddly companion has been created to help raise vital funds for The Shannon Airport Group’s 2025 charity partners: Clare Crusaders and Little Blue Heroes.

These two organisations work tirelessly to support children with additional needs and families of children undergoing long-term medical care. By picking up a Shannon Bear, you’re not just taking home a cute souvenir - you’re helping to make a real difference in the lives of local children and their families.

Talking about the launch of the Shannon Bear initiative, Vanessa McTigue, Chair of The Shannon Airport Group Charity Committee, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Shannon Bear to the airport today. He’s our first ever bespoke teddy, and what makes him truly special is that all proceeds from his sales will go directly to Clare Crusaders and Little Blue Heroes. These charities are doing extraordinary work in our communities, and we’re proud to stand beside them.

"Thanks to the creativity and dedication of our Duty Free team, Shannon Bear comes with his own little bag and Shannon Airport-themed scarf – ready for adventure and ready to spread joy.”

Whether you're flying out, picking up a gift or simply want to support these two very worthy causes, Shannon Bear is available at Shannon Duty Free and landside at WH Smith in the arrivals area. So even if you’re not travelling, you can still be part of something special.

A spokesperson for the group stated, "Help us help them. Bring Shannon Bear home and bring hope to those who need it most. Only available while stocks last."
