This announcement comes following a successful 2024 fundraising year, where The Shannon Airport Group raised €100,000 for The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland and Milford Care Centre
The Shannon Airport Group has revealed details of the two remarkable charities it will fundraise for in 2025. The charities, selected by their employees, are the Clare Crusaders and Little Blue Heroes.
Employees from The Shannon Airport Group have committed to rolling up their sleeves and coming up with a series of fun and innovative events to raise money throughout the year for these deserving charities.
Vanessa McTigue, Chair of The Shannon Airport Group Charity Committee said, "We are thrilled to support Clare Crusaders and Little Blue Heroes. These organisations do incredible work in our community, and we are proud to stand beside them."
This announcement comes following a successful 2024 fundraising year, where The Shannon Airport Group raised €100,000 for The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland and Milford Care Centre.
Each year, employees nominate and vote for charities to benefit from a 12-month fundraising campaign. Since its ten years in existence, The Shannon Airport Group fundraising efforts have seen over €500,000 raised for charities all over Ireland.

Charities that have benefited over the decade include: the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland; the Samaritans; Tipperary, Limerick & Clare for Cystic Fibrosis; Milford Care Centre, Limerick; the Children’s Arthritis Network; Ábalta Special School in Galway; Share a Dream Foundation; the Children’s Health Foundation; Sláinte an Chláir (Clare Cancer Support) and the Clare Crusaders.
During these times, dedicated staff have organised fashion shows, bake sales, raffles, cycling challenges, pub quizzes, sponsored walks, GAA hurling events and various local and business community events to support these charities.
Expressing her admiration for the fundraising efforts of employees Mary Considine, CEO of The Shannon Airport Group spoke proudly, "These partnerships highlight the Group’s commitment to supporting organisations that make a significant impact on communities, and I am so proud of all our employees who devote their time and energy to raise much needed funds for these deserving charities. I am looking forward to seeing what initiatives the team come up with this year.”
Thomas Downey, local representative for Little Blue Heroes said, “Working together with The Shannon Airport Group will allow our little heroes’ dreams and ambitions take off. They will fly high on their journey to fulfil their destiny.”
Ann Norton from Clare Crusaders Children’s Clinic added, “Partnering with The Shannon Airport Group means so much to us. With their backing, we can continue providing free, life-changing therapies to children who need them most.”
