Gardaí urge people in Clare to 'document' their Christmas presents

GARDAÍ are urging people in Clare and further afield to 'document' the gifts that they have received over Christmas just gone.

This is because items that people bought or received may have been stolen property, unbeknownst to the recipient.

To assist Clare gardaí in returning potentially stolen property to the rightful owner, they have asked that people document their property. This can be done on the An Garda Síochána App, or it can be written onto the Property Register Booklet.

The An Garda Síochána property app is available to download on your phone. Once you have the app downloaded and created your account, you can add items and photograph them. In the event that any of your property is stolen, you can select the object and press the report button.

The second option is the Property Register Booklet. This can be downloaded from the An Garda Síochána website, or requested by emailing ennis.community@garda.ie

Owners are asked to record a description of the item, the make and model, serial number, the cost and date of purchase and value.
