Seed sharing events are key to ensuring rare seed varieties continue to thrive in gardens and allotments all around Clare

Irish Seed Savers invites you to their Annual Community Seed Share event this February in Scariff, celebrating community, diversity, and sustainable agriculture.

Discover a treasure trove of diverse seeds, each with a unique story to tell from open-pollinated heirloom varieties to heritage Irish seeds, and some unusual varieties that are carefully conserved by Irish Seed Savers.

The seed share will take place Saturday, February 24, and will feature children's planting activities, guided tours of Heritage Seed Gardens, and a vegetarian food truck.

Tickets are €6, free for children and supporters of Irish Seed Savers, and can be booked for two time slots at 12-2pm and 2-4pm.

Irish Seed Savers is the leading non-governmental organisation working for the conservation of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture in Ireland.

Located in the beautiful tranquil landscape of East Clare, they were established in 1991 to protect Ireland’s food crop heritage for future generations, and have been saving and sharing rare heirloom seed varieties for over 30 years.

It is through seed sharing events that these rare seed varieties continue to thrive in gardens and allotments all around the country.
