Gardaí in Shannon are investigating a very serious assault that occurred on a public bus that was travelling from Ennis to Shannon on Wednesday, July 3, between 5.45pm and 6.10pm.
During this journey, a man grievously assaulted a woman and on arrival in Shannon, was arrested at the scene by gardaí.
This man in his mid-twenties was charged with a number of offences including Assault Causing Harm and he remains in custody following an appearance at Ennis District Court on the July 4.
Shannon gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have been on this bus to please contact them at 061 365 900.
