Traffic lights on a bridge in the heart of Ennis will be out of order for "two to three weeks", according to Clare County Council.

The council and Ennis Municipal District have announced that the traffic signals at Club Bridge in Ennis are "currently out of order".

Attempts to repair the signals have unfortunately proven unsuccessful, and new signals and associated infrastructure are required.

"These have been ordered from our supplier and it is likely it will take up to 2-3 weeks before the new signals are fully operational", the council said in a statement on social media.

Motorists, cyclists and particularly pedestrians are urged to take extra care at this junction and are reminded that in the absence of a signalised junction, normal rules of the road apply.
