Festivities to begin in Ennis with turning on off Christmas lights

AN EVENING full of festivities is in store for the switching on of the Christmas lights in Ennis this Thursday night.

The party will begin at 5pm this Thursday, November 23, with live music and entertainment at the Abbey Street carpark in Clare's principle town.

Kicking things off will be musical entertainment from Socks in the Frying Pan and Pantaloons at 5pm, along with the launch of the Remembrance Tree in aid of Cahercalla Community Care, before Santa's arrival at 6.30pm.

The Christmas lights will be switched on at 7pm by the Mayor of Ennis Municipal District Pat Daly and special guest All-Star Clare hurler Shane O'Donnell.

Fun activities will take place throughout the evening, such as face-painting, balloons and more. MC-ing on the night will be Clare FM's Colum McGrath.
