Child left with 'serious' injuries following alleged assault in Clare town

GARDAÍ have confirmed they are investigating the alleged assault of a child in County Clare which resulted in him being hospitalised at UHL.

The incident occurred at a premises in Sixmilebridge on Thursday afternoon, October 5.

While exact details of what happened have not been disclosed, gardai have confirmed they have launched an investigation.

"Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault that occurred at a premises in Sixmilebridge, County Clare on Thursday afternoon, October 5 2023," said a spokesperson.

"A male child was brought to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious but not life-threatening injuries," they added.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
