Clare farmers invited to attend meeting over Kerry milk prices

Clare farmers invited to attend meeting over Kerry milk prices

The meeting takes place in Adare this Wednesday evening

CLARE farmers who supply the Kerry Group are being invited to attend a meeting later this week which has been organised by the Milk Price Action Group.

The meeting, which is also open to farmers from Limerick, Cork and Kerry will take place at the Woodlands House Hotel in Adare, County Limerick, this Wednesday at 9pm.

Discussion topics on the night will include milk price, arbitration and milk mobility.

The price which Kerry is paying for milk compared to other co-ops has been a bone of contention for some time.

In June, hundreds of dairy farmers, including some from Clare, staged to protest in Charleville, North Cork with one saying the prices being paid were "the straw that broke the camel’s back”.

All are welcome to attend Wednesday's meeting.
