Quest Lough Derg takes place on September 9
CLARE County Council has confirmed details of several road closures to facilitate Quest Lough Derg which takes place in early September.
The event, which takes place on Saturday, September 9, is a one-day multi-sport race. It takes place in the hidden heartlands of Ireland in Ballina/Killaloe and all around majestic Lough Derg.
This race gives competitors the chance to run, cycle and kayak some of the most dramatic, breathtaking and remote scenery in the world.
Motorists are being advised temporary road closures will be in place from 6am to 2pm on the day.
Roads to be closed:
L-4128, L-8200 at Carrownakilly, L-82021 at Ballycuggaran, also the public parking bays at the North side of the Twomilegate Car Park.
Alternative routes / diversions;
Traffic shall be diverted northbound on the R-463 to the L-8198 and back onto the L-4128 – a diversion route map is attached below.
Where possible, local access will be maintained during the event.
