Works on major Clare road to be completed by end of month

The current phase of works on a major Clare road are set to be completed by the end of this month.

The N18 Surfacing Works are progressing with a view to completing all work on the southbound carriageway by the morning of Friday 29th July.

To minimise the impact along the busy section of the N18, works are carried out between 7pm and 6am each night, with 2 lanes maintained in each direction between 6am and 7pm daily. There is a reduced mandatory speed limit of 60kph for the duration of the works.

The works will take place from Monday July 17 until Friday July 21, and Monday July 24 until Friday July 28.

Southbound Junction 6 at Bunratty Castle and Junction 5 at Cratloe will be resurfaced during this time frame, and diversions will be in place.

Works are due to start on the northbound stretch of the carriageway in the first week of August, and are being carried out by Colas Joint Venture on behalf of Traffic Infrastructure Ireland (TII).
