SHANNON Airport had the highest temperature recorded in the country yesterday.

That’s according to Met Éireann who said Shannon Airport recorded a maximum air temperature of 25.7 degrees, the highest recorded in Ireland on Monday.

As high pressure will continue to dominate the weather this week, Met Eireann said it will remain warm for the rest of the week and for the weekend, keeping things generally dry with plenty of sunshine.

Wednesday will be dry and sunny. Highest temperatures of 19 to 25 degrees generally, but it will be cooler in the east due to a light to moderate easterly breeze, keeping the highest temperatures there around 15 to 18 degrees.

On Thursday, the weather will remain dry and sunny, with the sunshine turning hazy at times. Highest temperatures ranging 16 to 24 degrees east to west, with a light to moderate easterly breeze.

Most places will see another dry and sunny day on Friday. It will turn cloudier at times and showers are possible in the southwest. Highest temperatures of 17 to 25 degrees, warmest in the west, with a light to moderate easterly wind continuing.
