The wells of St. Martin at Ballynacally and at Querrin will feature in this Thursday's Ag Triall ar an Tobar on TG4

St. Martin's well, Ballynacally and St. Martin's well Querrin will feature in a TG4 series on the holy wells of Ireland.

“Ag Triall ar an Tobar” is a new 6-part documentary series that dives into the myths and legends associated with Ireland’s Holy wells and asks what is it about these therapeutic landscapes that retain a presence in today’s world?

In each episode presenter Manchán Magan uncovers holy wells that have been sites of worship and prayer for centuries and are still visited today for those seeking comfort and peace.

Where have these rituals come from and who are the people that keep these traditions alive?

In episode 3, presenter Manchán Magan celebrates holy wells associated with Saints Brigid, Gobnait, St. Martin and St. Patrick.

St. Martin’s Eve is celebrated around Europe and still in small pockets of Ireland today, Máire Ní Oistín and Michael O’Connell show us the traditions associated with it in East Clare.

Tune in to watch "Ag Triall ar an Tobar" this Thursday, March 28, at 8pm on TG4.
