Historical musical with a twist comes to Clare
A MUSICAL about Irish history and colonialism is coming to Clare, starring an award-winning performer.
The history of Oliver Cromwell invading Ireland is to be explored by writer Xnthony, who is returning with a play full of “an electrifying blend of pop bangers” and one that has been described by critics as “wickedly funny”.
Xnthony’s Oliver Cromwell is Really Very Sorry is going on a national tour of eight countries and is coming to Glór, Ennis on Thursday, November 9.
In the play, Xnthony tells the story about a man the English don't remember and the Irish will never forget.
This pop musical features anthems like ‘Puritanism’, ‘Horror Scope’ and ‘800 years’, with Xnthony joined by a cast of Irish and international Drag, Cabaret and musical theatre performers.
Tickets are €18/€20. The tour is funded by the Arts Council/An Chomuhairle Ealaíon, Arts Council England, Roscommon County Council and Xnthony LTD.
