There are "no plans" to extend opening hours at the Ennis Local Injury Clinic beyond 8am-8pm.
In response to a question from West Clare councillor Rita McInerney at the Regional Health Forum West in mid July, Colette Cowan, CEO of the UL Hospitals Group, said that opening hours at the Ennis Local Injury Clinic would not be extended to 8am-12am.
"The HSE undertook a national review of Injury Units in 2023 and recommended the standardisation of operating hours around the country so that all Injury Units would operate from 8am to 8pm," Ms Cowan told the forum on July 16.
"We currently have no plans to expand the operating hours of Ennis Injury Unit beyond 8pm."

According to Ms Cowan, over one third of all unscheduled care presentations to HSE services in the Mid-West are "now taking place at our Injury Units."
All three injury clinics at Ennis, Nenagh and St John's Hospital are "achieving the national targets of patient experience times of under two hours", she said.
