ELECTED: Timmy Dooley takes first Clare seat after 13th count

Fianna Fail's Timmy Dooley has been elected on the 13th count here in Ennis, the first new TD for Clare in the 2024 General Election.

Clearing the quota of 12,182, Dooley was elected after receiving 1,487 of surplas from his party colleague Rita McInerney, who was eliminated on Count 12.

His surplas of 1,384 will now be distributed, and as it exceeds the difference between the two lowest candidates Roisin Garvey (GP) and Eddie Punch (II), there were no eliminations on this count.
