Gardaí investigate 'serious' burglary of elderly Cooraclare homeowner

Kilrush Gardaí are currently investigating a burglary that took place in Cooraclare.

This was a very serious incident and the injured party has given Gardaí permission to speak about her case to raise awareness.

On this occasion, Wednesday, March 13, one of the perpetrators, a female in her 60’s, knocked on the door and stated that she was selling kitchen utensils.

When the injured party declined the offer, the female entered her property and took a number of items.

The perpetrators were subsequently arrested by the Gardaí in Kilrush, they were detained under the provisions of Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and subsequently charged.

Gardaí are warning residents in Clare to be vigilant and to be mindful of this when they have callers to their home.
