Former Ennis Chamber CEO to fill west Clare council seat

A FORMER CEO of Ennis Chamber is to be co-opted onto Clare County Council early next year.
Rita McInerney was chosen by a Fianna Fáil convention to fill the seat in West Clare vacated by the former Cooraclare councillor Bill Chamber.
Ms McInerney is the proprietor of McInerney’s Shop in Doonbeg and unsuccessfully contested the last General Election for Fianna Fáil in 2020.
She received a total for 40 votes at the Fianna Fáil convention to fill the seat vacated by Mr Chamber, following his resignation from politics in November.
Ms McInerney will be officially co-opted to the council at its next monthly meeting in January.
