'First of its kind' mental health conference to be held in Shannon

Mental health and well-being conference to be held in Clare town
A "first of its kind" mental health and wellbeing conference is set to be held in Shannon.
Dr. Mary Honan, an author, podcaster and researcher has organised the event along with Pat Barry, the new Independent candidate for Shannon Municipal district elections, along with Clare-based handmade soap company Airmid.
The event will take place at the Hope Café in the Shannon Town Centre on Friday, January 12.
The conference will be run all day, from 9am to 5pm and will have speakers from around the country, with two special guest speakers Azim Khamisa, hailed for his work by the Dalai Lama, Al Gore and Bill Clinton, and renowned psychotherapist Robert Carley.
Organisations such as the Clare Suicide Bereavement Centre, Haven Hub, GROW, HSE Suicide Awareness and ABC Mental Health will also be represented at the event.
The event is free to the public and those present will have an opportunity to ask questions of the speakers.
