THE ENNIS International Fantastic FilmFest (EIFF) has once again partnered with Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) as they continue their sponsorship of the festival, now in its second year.

TUS remains one of the leading education providers in the region for those with ambitions of working in the ever-growing film industry.

Almost 500 students are studying film relevant programmes as diverse as Creative Broadcast and Film Production to Digital Animation and Fashion Design in TUS. Graduates continue to find employment in this growing area not just in production, sound, music and animation but also in costume and set design.

This year TUS staff and students will play a central role in the international film festival with TUS Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD) lecturer Dr Tracy Fahey launching her sixth book at the festival.

EIFF will take place in locations across Ennis from October 27 - 29, with a programme of events, workshops and special screenings.

Arc Cinema Ennis will host a series of anniversary screenings of The Exorcist and The Wicker Man, with industry expert introductions, plus a daytime screening of The Addams Family. Ticketing for these screenings are available here.

Workshops and events include a panel discussion on ‘The Influence of Irish Folklore on Horror and Fantasy film’, with leading industry professionals, a Prosthetics for Film Industry workshop delivered by industry leaders in this field – Odyssey Studios, and the launch of novella ‘They Shut Me Up’ by gothic author Tracy Fahey who will be in conversation with Martina Durac, filmmaker and Artistic Director of Ennis Book Club Festival. Tickets for these events are available through Eventbrite.

EIFF launched in 2022 as the first film festival in the ‘Fantastic’ genre in Ireland, which covers horror, fantasy and sci-fi film.

FX and screenwriting workshops, film panel discussions, special feature film screening, and an ideas pitching competition also feature in this year’s programme.

Ennis International Fantastic FilmFest is organised and delivered through the support of Ennis Chamber. For further details see here.
