Sister Christina Keane passed away in her 91st year
Tributes have poured in following the death of Sister Christina (Chrissie) Keane, who was originally from Feakle in County Clare.
According to her death notice, which has been published on RIP.ie, Sister Christina died peacefully, in her 91st year, in the loving care of Nazareth House Care Centre on June 9, 2025.
She is Christina is predeceased by her parents Pat and Lena; her brothers Jim, Donnie and Michael; her sisters Lizzie (Nelson) and Mary (McDonnell).
She is deeply regretted by her nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and nephews.
Sr. Christina's Requiem Mass was celebrated in Nazareth House on June 24 with burial afterwards in North Sheen cemetery in London.
Heartfelt messages, from Clare and further afield, have been posted on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Sr. Christina, with one person writing: "Sr. Cristina rest peacefully with the angels You were a magnificent person when I knew you long long ago. Anna."

Another message said, "Rip aunt Christina bless you, the keane family will sadly miss you aunty Christina, from your visits and stories and cards at Xmas time and blessings, over the years of your travels around to different parts of the world, when you visited my home house in boyhill in athenry co galway, to visit my dad your brother Jim rip, heartfelt sympathy to friends, relations, you are all in our thoughts and prayers, pascal keane formally off athenry and Delores farrell."
Another person wrote: "Our sincere sympathy to the Community of the Sisters of Nazareth, to the keane & Nelson families, & extended families, on the passing of Sr Christina, may her gentle soul rest in peace."
Sr. Christina will be remembered at Mass in Kilclaren church, Feakle at a later date.
