ALERT: Man (70's) injured in early morning assault as Gardai appeal for information

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following an early morning assault on an elderly man in Ennis town.

The incident happened at approximately 1:30 am on Sunday, November 30.

According to investigating gardai, it occurred when the man, aged in his 70's, was getting into a friends car in the Francis Street Car Park, and another who had also attempted to get into the vehicle approached him.

When stopped, the suspect struck the man injuring him, and fed the scene on foot.

As this was a very frightening experience for the man, gardai are seeking to speak with anyone that may have witnesses the assault or seen a male running from the scene on St Francis street.
