Gardai are appealing for witnesses after three masked men smashed the rear window of a parked car in a housing estate in Ennis.

In an appeal, they say the incident, which is under investigation, happened at around 10.30pm last Sunday night.

"The owner parked their vehicle, a beige Renault Scenic in Dun na hInse estate on the Lahinch Road. A witness reported that three young men dressed in black tracksuits and black balaclavas approached the beige Renault Scenic and
smashed the rear windscreen with a brick," said Sergeant Catriona Holohan, who added that the perpetrators fled the scene on
foot.

In a separate incident of criminal damage in Ennis, the window of a family home was damaged as was a black Ford Galaxy car.

Gardai say this incident took place at around 11.20pm on Monday night and that a witness described the perpetrators as male and they fled the scene on foot.
