It is believed that the vehicle used by these perpetrators was a silver Renault Clio as Gardaí at Rahona East in Carrigaholt later discovered a car of this make on fire, approximately three minutes away from the scene.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in Kilrush said, "We are appealing to anyone that may have observed this silver Renault Clio last Wednesday evening or the early hours of Thursday morning, can you provide a description of the driver? Did anyone observe anything suspicious or out of character in Carrigaholt on the days before the burglary on Thursday morning?"
