Gardaí in Kilkee are appealing for witnesses after two distinctive items were stolen in separate incidents over the course of a weekend.

Gardaí are currently investigating the theft of a cattle box from a yard in the Glascloune area of Doonbeg. This incident occurred between Friday morning, June 13, at 9am and Saturday morning, June 14, at 9am.

The owner describes their trailer as a silver Hudson 3 Axle trailer; it is a 12Ft 6 trailer.

On this occasion, a HB 5 11 horsebox was stolen between Friday evening at 8pm and 4pm on Saturday evening.

Both of these distinctive items were stolen in a similar timeframe and area, however, it is not yet known if the two are connected.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in the town said, "We are appealing to anyone that was driving in or near Doonbeg on Friday night; do you remember seeing a vehicle drawing either a cattle box or a horsebox on the night? If you have any information that could assist Kilkee Gardaí with this investigation or if your vehicle or your home has CCTV, please contact your local Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111."
