Gardai in Scariff are investigating | FILE PHOTO
Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Scariff in the early hours of this Christmas Eve.
In an appeal, they say a commercial premises on the Main Street in the village was broken into sometime between 1.45am and 4am this Tuesday.
"Four males were involved in this burglary - three males entered the premises whilst one male remained outside. The perpetrators left the scene in a navy Volkswagen Golf," said crime prevention officer Sergeant Catriona Holohan.
Investigating gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Scariff area on Monday or in the early hours of this Tuesday morning to come forward if they saw anything unusual.
"Did you see a navy Volkswagen Golf? Do you have CCTV or dash-cam footage? If you observed anything that you thought to be unusual or suspicious, or if you have any information, please contact Scariff garda station," said Sgt Holohan.
