Gardaí in County Clare are investigating a number of fraud incidents this week and each incident involved a different type of fraud.
One investigation involved a scam using Facebook and Instagram.
The injured party in this case was informed that their Facebook and Instagram accounts had been hacked and they were advised to contact Meta Head Office and they were provided a contact telephone number.
The injured party contacted the number and they were asked to download the Meta Business App on their laptop.

When the injured party did this, the perpetrator took control of their laptop screen.
Gardaí in Clare are also investigating incidents of fraud using bogus phone calls and fraudulent notes.
