Gardai seek to locate getaway car following burglary at garden shed in rural Clare

Gardai in Killaloe are appealing for help in locating a Volkswagen Passat which they believe was used as a getaway car following a burglary in east Clare.

An investigation is underway following the incident that took place in the Cloonloum area of O’Callaghan Mills in broad daylight between 3pm and 4.30pm last Thursday, October 10.

"Two men were disturbed as they broke a window into a shed on this property. They subsequently fled the scene in a grey/silver Volkswagen Passat in the direction of Kilkishin," said a garda spokesperson who added that gardai believe the same vehicle was in the Broadford area earlier on the same day.

Killaloe gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have observed this vehicle in the Cloonloum area of O’Callaghan Mills or Broadford area, to please contact Killaloe garda station on 061 620540.

It's understood that nothing was taken from the property in O’Callaghan Mills.
