Council announce details of new Shannon affordable housing scheme

Applications for the Radharc Doire Shannon Affordable Housing Scheme will open April 4, 2024
Clare County Council will open an Affordable Purchase Scheme of 3-bedroom homes at Radharc Doire, Shannon.
Under the Local Authority Affordable Purchase Scheme, Clare County Council will make these homes available at a reduced rate for first time buyers and other eligible buyers who cannot afford to purchase a home at its open market values with a maximum mortgage and 10% deposit.
In return, Clare County Council will take a percentage equity share in the house equal to the difference between the open market value of the home and the reduced price.
The application process for the Radharc Doire Affordable Housing Scheme will be live at 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 4 2024.
In order to be eligible to apply for Affordable Housing in Rahairc Doire, Shannon, Co.Clare, applicants must be classified as a first-time buyer and do not own or have legal interest in a dwelling, and must use the affordable home as the household’s normal place of residence.
Intending purchasers from a member state of the EU/European Economic Area can apply for an affordable home, provided they are living and working in Ireland and have the right to reside indefinitely in Ireland.
The development is ideally located within the town within walking distance of Shannon Town Centre and just 2 minutes from the M17 and M18 with access to Ennis, Limerick and Galway.
