Clare weather

LARGELY cloudy on Wednesday morning with just occasional bright spells. Outbreaks of light rain will gradually track southeastwards across the county with good sunny spells following in the clearance.

Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees. Light to moderate southwesterly winds will veer northwesterly in the clearance from the rain.

It will be a little cloudy on Wednesday night with some patchy light rain or drizzle in places. Staying dry elsewhere with clear spells into the night. It will turn chilly as cool air from the north plunges down over the country in that northerly breeze so our lows will dip down to 2 to 5 degrees.

High pressure will builds over the country on Thursday so it will be a calm but somewhat cloudy start to the morning. Some sunny spells will develop during the afternoon but it will stay a little cooler with highest afternoon temperatures of only 6 to 8 degrees in light northerly breezes.

Any cloud will clear on Thursday night to leave a mostly clear and dry night. Temperatures are expected to fall below freezing widely so there is the risk of icy stretches and ground frost.

Winds will be mostly light and variable with lowest temperatures of 2 to -2 degrees.
