The overarching mission of the LGBTI+ Funding Scheme B is to promote inclusion, protect rights, and enhance the quality of life and wellbeing for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. It seeks to empower individuals to fully participate in all aspects of Ireland's social, economic, cultural, and political life.
QuareClare's "Bród An Chlair" project directly aligns with this mission, offering a comprehensive approach with four major components, including funding for Clare Pride 2024, visibility campaigns, awareness workshops in schools and more.
The funding will be put towards educational workshops conducted in local schools, addressing inclusivity, acceptance, and understanding of LGBTQIA+ peers. These workshops will help create a more supportive environment, combat bullying, and discrimination, and promote a culture of respect and diversity.
The group will also curate an arts exhibition showcasing the creativity and talent of LGBTQIA+ artists in county Clare. This platform for expression encourages dialogue and appreciation for diverse experiences, giving LGBTQIA+ artists a space to share their stories and experiences through their art.
Clare Pride 2024 will feature a vibrant lineup of LGBTQIA+ artists, musicians, performers, guest speakers, informational booths, and networking opportunities, creating an atmosphere of acceptance and camaraderie and providing a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies to come together to celebrate diversity and promote unity.
QuareClare will launch a multimedia campaign that highlights the achievements, contributions, and challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals in County Clare. Through inspiring stories of resilience, this campaign aims to challenge stereotypes and promote positive representation, fostering greater understanding and empathy within the wider community.
This grant represents a significant step forward in QuareClare's mission to foster an inclusive, accepting, and understanding community.
The funding will enable the organisation to reach a broader audience and further empower the LGBTQIA+ community, making county Clare a more welcoming and supportive place for everyone.
