NEW DATA has revealed the highest house prices in the country, with Clare ranked in the top 10 counties.

The study, conducted by self-storage experts Storage World Self Storage, analysed house prices from 2010 and 2022 to calculate the price change and to determine the percentage change.

In Ireland, Clare ranks seventh on the list with a 45% increase in house prices in a 12 year period. In 2010, the average house price was €175,999.16 whereas in 2022, that had risen to €255,599.04.

Dublin comes first with an 80% price increase over the 12 years, from €332,941.86 to €598,906.89. This growth is considerably higher than any other on the list, making Dublin almost a separate case compared to the other counties.

“It’s interesting yet worrying how much house prices have increased over the last 12 years,” said Ken Davis, Regional Manager for Storage World Self Storage.

“This has a strong impact mostly on younger generations that may start to look to buy a home, however because of this increase, it’s not shocking to discover that many young adults do not think they’ll be able to afford their own house until much older”.
