Lakeside Hotel in Killaloe introduce 2GoCup scheme for takeaway coffee

The Lakeside Hotel has joined the 2GoCup initiative in a bid to reduce the use of waste from takeaway cups.

Customers pay a €2 deposit for their coffee or tea and return the cup for a refund or keep it for future use.

The cups are dishwasher safe and have a lifespan of 1,000 uses, or approximately 3 years.

This is a fantastic way to reduce your carbon footprint, without cutting down on your coffee.

Founded in 2018, 2GoCup aims to provide reusable branded cups to cafes and businesses.

“2GoCup has been building deposit and return systems for over five years, but it has never been about a cup," CEO and founder Kevin Murphy said.

"It is about changing how our society does things. It’s about showing people there is a way to share products that reduces waste and saves everyone money. We want to connect hospitality businesses, and consumers, all over the world."
