CONNECTION will be the theme of an arts festival taking place this June.

The Mountshannon Arts festival committee launched their 2023 brochure at Under The Oak Cafe, where the chair of the committee paid tribute to local business owners in the village who offer venues for various events, as well as sponsorship.

Chair of Committee, Mel White, commented: “We are supported locally every year, and we are grateful for this. This year's theme for the festival is CONNECTION, and we have a great mix of music, poetry, theatre and art galleries as well as workshops for children.

A non-profit, community venture, Mountshannon Arts is run by a changing group of local volunteers.

Rooted in the visual arts, the ethos of Mountshannon Arts aims to create access to works and exhibitions that would not be easy to find in a rural area, while at the same time stimulating the creation of works and performances from within the local community.

Through the arts, they hope to foster greater connectedness, both within their community and with the wider world. And, their vision is to stimulate and cultivate creative expression through artistic ventures, reflecting and inspired by our unique community and setting.

This year’s festival will take place from June 1 to 5. Further information via www.mountshannonarts.ie
