Call for Clare schools to apply for Artist in Schools Residencies

CLARE Arts Office has invited primary and secondary schools in county Clare to submit their applications for the Artists in Schools Residencies Scheme 2023/24.

The Artists in Schools Scheme was established to enable primary and secondary schools in Clare to develop projects with professional artists for the benefit of the participating students.

Since then, over 400 residencies have taken place throughout the county with children participating in visual arts, music, dance, mime, drama, film and creative writing.

Residencies for 2023/24 to the value of €1,200 are being offered.

The Clare Arts Office Artists in Schools Programme is designed to create opportunities for artists and schools to work together over a specific duration of time.

Projects should be innovative, unique and foster creativity and skills development, while introducing children to the language used in art making.

Projects that introduce children to experience the cross disciplinary nature of the arts, projects which connect ideas and art making to other subjects e.g. history, science, the environment, local, national and global cultures and traditions, are also encouraged.

The deadline for applications is Friday, 10th November, 2023.
