Two wins for Clare projects at .ie Digital Town Awards 2024

Projects based in Shannon and Ennistymon took home two top prizes at the .ie Digital Town Awards 2024
Two Clare projects have been recognised for their efforts in digital innovation, picking up awards at the .ie Digital Town Awards 2024.
Future Mobility Campus Ireland, a testing site for future technologies based in Shannon, has taken home the top prize in the Digital Business category while an Ennistymon based project – Digital Ennistymon with Waywyser, took first place in the Digital Tourism Category.
.ie, the trusted national registry for over 330,000 domain names announced the winners of the .ie Digital Town Awards 2024 at a Gala event held in the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone, Co. Westmeath this Friday, May 24.
Future Mobility Campus Ireland is an automotive test facility located in the real-world setting of the Shannon Free Zone, providing customers with the ability to test, validate and demonstrate their technologies.
Customers have access to a road network that is retrofitted with interconnected state of the art sensing and telecommunication technologies or a “Smart City Infrastructure,” which is controlled by a dedicated control centre.

Facilities include the fibre connected ‘Smart City’ as well as a fleet of test vehicles, low-speed manoeuvring test track and a large-volume data centre for storage and high-speed data processing.
Digital Ennistymon with Waywyser seeks to improve Ennistymon for both visitors and the residents of the town using digital technologies.
Ennistymon faces a unique challenge of having too many tourists passing through travelling to the Cliffs of Moher, but they don’t have enough tourists dwelling.
This project promotes the attractions of Ennistymon in an innovative tech-centred way to slow passing tourists down and keep them in the area, including a drone based mapping of the town, creation of a 3D interactive map, Visitor Attraction Management (VAM), 360 degree recording of the town and IOT device integration.
The awards are proudly sponsored by Square, the technology company that makes commerce and financial services easy and accessible, and are supported by the Western Development Commission.
Now in their 4th year, the .ie Digital Town Awards shine a light on local projects that have a digital element and promote the use of the internet and digital technologies.
They recognise the positive impact of digital strategies in community organisations, town groups, regional or national collaboration projects, and individual businesses across the country.
A total prize fund of €60,000 was distributed across nine categories at today’s gala ceremony.
