Appeal lodged to overturn planning permission for major Ennis housing development

An Bord Pleanála received the third party appeal after granting conditional permission for the 31 unit development
An appeal has been lodged with An Bod Pleanála to overturn planning permission for a 31 unit housing development in Ennis.
The proposed development, located on Tulla Road, Roslevan, Ennis, consists of 31 residential dwellings and all ancillary siteworks including ground works, drainage , utilities , street lighting and landscaping.
Permission for the development was conditionally granted by Clare County Council in January this year.
The appeal was lodged with An Bord Pleanála in February by chartered civil engineer Michael Duffy on behalf of two local couples, whose properties adjoin the development site.
Issues raised in the appeal include concerns over boundary treatments, finished floor levels and the "anti social use" of ancillary space next to their homes, along with "particular environmental concerns regarding the lack of capacity in the wastewater treatment plant".
The case is due to be decided on by An Bord Pleanála by June 25, 2024.
