Amateur photographers urged to show Clare at its best as work begins on new Development Plan

CLARE County Council has launched a special photograph competition to coincide with the preparation of the Clare County Development Plan 2023-2029.
The plan, when completed, will set out a strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of County Clare over the next six years.
Photographs submitted as part of the competition should reflect County Clare in a post pandemic era and the resilience of its people in facing up to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and embracing fresh opportunities created in its wake.
Any chapter headings in Volume 1 of the Draft Clare County Development Plan 2023-2029 can be interpreted in photographs which reflect the beauty, uniqueness, diversity and resilience of the place and people of County Clare.
Photographs and application forms should be submitted electronically to [email protected]. A hard copy of completed entry form and photograph should also be submitted to the Council offices or by post.
The competition, which is open to amateur photographers only, has two categories, under 18 and adult. For the under 18 category, entrants must be aged 17 or younger on the closing date of March 31, 2023.
The winner in each category will receive a photography voucher worth €250.
The winning entries and a selection of other photographs may be published as part of the final Clare County Development Plan 2023-2029.
