Woman with child in car tests positive for cocaine - and that wasn't her only offence

Gardaí in the Midlands were left shocked this week after stopping a woman on foot of reports of dangerous driving.

Posting an update of the incident on social media, gardaí said: "Sit back, this will take you a minute."

Gardaí in Westmeath first took a call about a person's dangerous driving and found a car fitting the description and pulled it in.

Gardaí were shocked to find the drive was travelling with no insurance, no NCT, no licence and no tax.

Most disturbing of all was the fact the woman tested positive for cocaine with a child in the front passenger seat.

Legal proceedings will follow.
