WEATHER: Temperatures 'struggling' as double digits may be off the cards

Overnight cold of 1°C and 2°C knocks daytime temperatures back
A 'mixed day ahead' has been forecast yet again this Thursday, where temperatures in some places will struggle to hit double digits.
A cold airmass which hit the country earlier this week has brought with it below average temperatures for this time of year.
While sunny spells cover places, lows of 1°C or 2°C blanketed the country overnight meaning temperatures this Thursday will only reach between 9°C and 15°C.
While May was recorded as being the 'warmest May on record in Ireland', June has since been unique as the cold airmass which graced the country at the beginning of the month refuses to shift.
Met Éireann are reporting that this Thursday, there will be a mix of cloud and sunny spells, along with scattered showers.
The showers will be mainly in the north and west at first but will become more widespread by afternoon. It will be mostly dry with sunny spells this evening as the showers become isolated.
