Weather forecasts 'varied' as rain expected nationwide

Indications of possible rain across the country varying on weather platforms
The question of future rainfall forecasted across Ireland is proving difficult to pin down, as indications of rain are varying nationwide.
While Met Éireann has reported rain to be 'widespread' in the coming days and into next week, with showers and possibilities of hail in places, Carlow Weather has said that forecasts are showing variations of rain for the coming days.
"Low pressure in control next week but positions of low systems vary on the two models. This means rainfall amounts will vary a lot across forecasts and apps etc," the weather expert said.
Scattered showers with the possibility of some turning wintery have been forecast over the weekend.
Met Éireann has said that rainfall next week will be 'above average' and that temperatures will be 'below average'.
However, with the positions of low systems varying on the latest forecasts of next week, Carlow Weather reckons it is hard to get an accurate picture of what next week's weather holds just yet.
"March ends with low pressure to the northwest generating a predominately northwesterly airflow, bringing above average precipitation amounts over the country, possibly of hail at times, along with below average temperature values," according to Met Éireann.
