Brian Greene was diagnosed with lung cancer

A fundraiser has been set up to help a GAA player who has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Brian Greene was diagnosed with lung cancer in May 2022, and started his treatment in June of the same year.

Brian played for Mount Sion GAA and was named to face All-Ireland champions, Tipperary in the Guinness Munster SHC final at Páirc Uí Cháoimh in 2022.

To help him finish work he started on his house and build a wellness room to aid him on his journey, his friends have set up a fundraiser.

"Brian and Debbie had purchased a site and built their home over time as a labour of love as they are both DIY enthusiasts. They had started the outside work groundwork’s etc and the Brian got sick," said his friends on a GoFundMe campaign.

"We approached Brian to ask for his blessing to continue the work from where he left off nearly two years ago and also to help with the obvious financial burden they faced along the way and continue to face as Brian is on his journey. The aim of this Go Fund Me Page is to complete the groundworks which they began and we intend to add a therapeutic and wellness room to aid Brian on his journey. With your help we can help Brian along his recovery journey," they explained.
