WATCH: New Quality Street wrappers are a 'travesty'

The creator started a poll where 43.8% of viewers agreed with the woman
A woman has gone viral on social media over fury towards new Quality Street wrappers that prove to be a ‘travesty’.
Quality Street, one of Nestlé's most popular confectionery brands across the world, introduced recyclable FSC-certified paper packaging for its twist-wrapped sweets worldwide in early 2023.
The landmark move from dual foil and cellulose to recyclable paper wrappers sees Quality Street remove almost 2.5 billion individual pieces of packaging material from its supply chain globally.
This major step will contribute to Nestlé's commitment to reach 100% recyclable packaging by 2025.
Louise Barrett, head of the Nestlé Confectionery Product Technology Centre said: "With nine different sweets to consider, the transition has been a huge undertaking. Each of our existing machines need to be adapted to run paper and then rigorously tested by our packaging experts to ensure we're still delivering the same quality consumers expect when they open a box of Quality Street.”
Two flavours, Orange Crunch and the Green Triangle will remain in their existing foil wrappers as they can already be recycled.
One woman who has ‘been buying Quality Street for the last sixty years’ will not be buying them again as the new wrappers prove to be no ‘festive cheer.'
This has caused a controversial debate on popular social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter where the video of the woman was shared.
The woman said: “I never thought I would be reduced to this. This is a travesty. I will never purchase this product ever again. Our whole family every year has enjoyed Quality Street and their shiny wrappers.”
The woman ended her passionate argument by telling Quality Street to ‘shove it where the sun doesn’t shine.’
The video was shared by Declan Cashin and many in the comments have agreed with the passionate lady as the creator started a poll where 43.8% of viewers agreed with the woman, “this is a travesty”.
