Brand new season of hit Netflix show was filmed in Ireland and is set to premier very soon

The official trailer for Tim Burton's 'Wednesday' season two has just been released and is available to watch now.

The sequel to the hit Netflix show was largely filmed in Ireland and is set to premier on Netflix next month, in two instalments.

Part 1 will premier on Netflix on August 6, 2025 and the second part will premier on September 3, 2025.

Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Adams returns to gothic halls of Nevermore Academy where she is plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.

The show was written by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar, who said: "Going into Season 2, we wanted to make sure that we didn’t disappoint. We felt a responsibility to ensure that this season is as good as Season 1, if not better. Our aim was always to elevate it in terms of the storylines and character arcs — but also the look, feel, and scope of the show. The ambition is really high for this season.

"The surprising thing about the show and about the character of Wednesday

is how universal she is, how global she is. We always knew in America that the Addams family were very popular characters, but the fact that they have been such a global hit took us by surprise.

"The universal idea of being an outsider, of being an outcast and feeling that you don’t belong, feels like something that is both global and multigenerational. Everyone feels that way; everyone sees themselves in Wednesday."

Director Tim Burton said: "When I first read the character of Wednesday, I fell in love with the story and it spoke to me. But

that’s one part. The second part of it is, “Who’s going to play this character?” It’s not easy. There’s got

to be somebody who has it in their heart and soul, and that’s what we felt with Jenna. There was no

question about it. That’s who the character is, and she brings so much to it. She’s a real equal part of

and partner in this process. She’s smart, she’s easy and fun to work with, and she knows her character."
