WARNING: Have you seen this before? Dangerous sinkhole appears on busy Irish road

A sinkhole has appeared on a busy Irish road this week, prompting warnings to motorists.

The sinkhole appeared on a road near Barnahown, in south Tipperary.

Local councillor Máirín McGrath issued a warning to motorists on Monday evening.

She said: "There’s a sinkhole after appearing in the road at Barnahown Araglen.

"Please avoid this road and take alternative routes. Tipperary County Council are notified and it will be cordoned off shortly."

The road was subsequently closed at Barnahown West and on Tuesday afternoon at 3pm the road at Barnahown had been repaired and reopened.

Cllr McGrath added: "Thanks to TCC staff for timely fix."
