Teenage motorcyclist injured in hit-and-run

A teenage motorcyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Ballymun in Dublin on Monday night, Gardai said.

In a statement, An Garda Siochana said emergency services were called to Santry Avenue shortly after 10pm.

They say the motorcyclist, a man in his late teens, was hit by a car which failed to remain at the scene.

The motorcyclist was taken to the Mater Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses and say the car involved is believed to be a white/cream Renault Captur with a black roof.
