Pensioner requires medical treatment after altercation with intruders

A man in his 80s required medical treatment after several males forced entry to his home in Dublin.
The aggravated burglary occurred in Dunree Park, Coolock, in the north of the city.
The males forced entry at the property at around 4.40am on Thursday.
Gardai, who released details of the incident on Saturday, said an altercation ensued between the intruders and the pensioner.
The suspects then fled the scene and entered a vehicle parked outside.
The silver estate style car, reported as being possibly a 2000s registered Renault Megane, then exited Dunree Park over a grass margin between Dunree Park and the Malahide Road and travelled for a short period outbound on the wrong side of the Malahide Road.
Gardai said the homeowner received medical treatment.
They said no items were taken during the incident.
A technical examination of the scene has been conducted and investigations are ongoing.
Gardai appealed for anyone with any information to come forward.
